The preschoolers and teachers of the Children’s Mini College at Colorado Mountain College Glenwood Springs are preparing for the Chocolate Extravaganza, their annual fundraiser and silent auction, on Feb. 22.

This year’s chocolate festivity will be held once again at CMC Glenwood Springs, on Blake Avenue. The preschool’s huge chocolate fountain will make a comeback as well.

Preschoolers make chocolate treats

Children’s Mini College preschoolers love to help make chocolate haystacks for the Chocolate Extravaganza, the preschool’s annual fundraiser, which will be held Feb. 22. From left, Ziquem Trejo, Ada Gordon, Daniel Hartman, Gabriella Chavarria and Zoe Vargas mix up a fresh batch.

For the $15 admission, participants will receive two glasses of wine, as well as savory bites and endless chocolate treats. The silent auction includes certificates for local restaurants, health and fitness, lodging, artwork, jewelry, and automotive care, massages and other services. All proceeds go toward the preschool’s operational expenses and tuition assistance.

Sponsors include Colorado Mountain College, Pediatric Partners at Valley View Hospital, Uncle Pizza, Mi Lindo Nayarit, Aspen Business Services, Office Depot and Big Sid’s Bottles.

The Chocolate Extravaganza will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Children’s Mini College, CMC Glenwood Springs, 1402 Blake Ave. For more information or to make a donation, contact Joan Chovanec, Children’s Mini College preschool director, at 970-945-2446 or visit Mini College’s Chocolate Extravaganza.
