Editor’s note: This article on CMC alumnus William Mundo was originally published in the University of Colorado Denver’s newsletter “The Connection,” by CU Denver student Nathan Fox.

Photo of William MundoGraduating with undergraduate degrees in both Public Health and Ethnic Studies, William Mundo was one of more than 1500 students who crossed the University of Colorado Denver stage on Commencement Day but during his four years on campus he never even came close to getting lost in the crowd. Mundo was always in constant motion contributing to the university community, serving in either a leadership role or as a member of numerous student organizations and advocating for a wide variety of social justice causes.
Will’s world
In Spanish, “mundo” means “world” which led to the nickname “Dr. William World”. CU Denver staff member Leah Novak is the events and programs manager in the Division of Student Affairs and worked closely with Mundo in her advisor’s role with the newly formed Students Today Alumni Tomorrow organization (STAT). She recognized early in Mundo’s career that he was a special leader and says his nickname fits him perfectly.  Click for full article.
