Leadville offers family event Aug. 28

Iconic black and white photos on exhibit in new Leadville building

"Photographs," by William Heick, is one of 26 black-and-white photos from the acclaimed George and Patti Stranahan collection of museum-quality photos that will be on display at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville through Sept. 15. CMC peace officer academy in Buena Vista has certified 41 graduates

Colorado Mountain College Law Enforcement Training Academy graduatesWorking in construction, 23-year-old Logan Tidwell thought he was getting a lot done but he didn’t feel he was making a positive impact in the world.

So one day Tidwell called his dad, who happens to be the police chief in Buena Vista, to say he wanted to enter the law enforcement profession, too.

Boettcher Foundation confirms matching grant for leadership center

CMC student receives Vail Resorts diversity scholarship

College student Roger Espinoza saw snow for the first time at age 10, and he fell in love with it.

He decided to devote his professional career to the fluffy white stuff. Espinoza received a big boost in that direction as the current recipient of the Vail Resorts Ski Area Operations Diversity Scholarship. The scholarship covers two years’ tuition, books and fees to study in the ski area operations (SAO) program at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville.
