A 17-mile stretch of Interstate 70 has been closed in western Colorado after a rock slide punched gaping holes in a bridge and left huge boulders on the highway.

Colorado Senate passes CMC baccalaureate bill 33-1

Bill now moves forward to House of Representatives

The Colorado Senate voted 33-1 today to pass Senate Bill 10-101, which would allow Colorado Mountain College to offer four-year degrees.GLENWOOD SPRINGS – One more hurdle has been passed in Colorado Mountain College’s appeal to the state legislature to allow the college to offer a limited number of bachelor’s degrees, as the Colorado Senate voted 33-1 today to pass Senate Bill 10-101.  One additional senator was absent from the session.

Colorado Mountain College seeks 4-year degree program

Senate committee passes CMC baccalaureate bill 7-1

The state Senate education committee voted 7-1 today in support of SB 101, the bill that would allow Colorado Mountain College to offer a limited number of bachelor’s degrees.GLENWOOD SPRINGS – Colorado Mountain College students, staff and faculty are celebrating some good news from Denver, after hearing that a bill supporting expanded degree offerings at the comprehensive community college has passed its first hurdle in the state legislature.

Phi Theta Kappa sponsors Help for Haiti spaghetti dinner

Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of the two-year college, will be sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner to help generate funds for the people of Haiti.

Thanks to the generous donations from Sodexo Dining Services, the CMC Glenwood Center and the greater community, all proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross and their efforts to provide help and support. Details after the jump.
