Ranch tour a chance to see newborn calves, learn where food comes from

As part of the college’s Encore! program, participants will learn about, maybe even witness, the miracle of birth during calving season.Colorado Mountain College in Rifle presents a ranch tour, a chance to hear ranching stories and enjoy a barbecue.

On Saturday, April 10, from 1 to 6:30 p.m., you can visit two ranches in western Garfield County and learn about ranch life from the ranchers themselves. They’ll tell all about the hard work and dedication that goes into bringing food to your table. Then enjoy a ranch barbecue with all the fixings at the end of the day.

Come alone for $20 or bring the family for $50 (two adults and two children; each additional child is $8). Please register before March 26 for this event at the Rifle campus, 3695 Airport Road. Those who have taken a Colorado Mountain College class within the past 10 months may register by phone, 625-1871. Payment is required at the time of registration.
